Dr. Bruce J. Holmes is a founder, President and CEO of AirMarkets Corporation. As CEO, Bruce leads a team focused on building agent-based modeling tools that will improve the availability of charter flights for customers and provide strategic guidance for aircraft manufacturers, fleet owners, charter operators and airports. Under his leadership, AirMarkets is building a comprehensive model of worldwide air travel demand and developing applications for our customers and strategic partners to use in their product development, business planning and capital investment programs.

Bruce brings an extensive background in aviation innovations and technology and large project management from his active involvement in a wide range of strategic initiatives during his career at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Bruce has long been active in the development of agent-based modeling technology for use in determining consumer demand for air transportation (both scheduled and on-demand), and supply-side production management for aircraft manufacturers.

After retiring from NASA in 2007 as a member of the federal Senior Executive Service, Bruce became the Chief Strategy Officer for NextGen at DayJet Corporation, where he helped launch the first per-seat on-demand air carrier. DayJet also used agent-based modeling to evaluate demand for air travel in markets without scheduled air transportation services. In 2009, Bruce was a founder and CEO of NextGen AeroSciences, where he managed applications of agent-based modeling techniques for use by the U.S. government in its evaluation of future demand for air transportation and related infrastructure requirements.

During his career, he has received industry, academic and government peer recognition. He received his Masters and Doctor of Engineering degrees from the University of Kansas and did post-graduate work as a Senior Executive Fellow at Harvard in the Kennedy School of Government. He is also a commercial, jet-rated pilot of more than 50 years, holds an Advanced/Instrument Ground Instructor rating, and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and of the Royal Aeronautical Establishment.
