William (Bill) Van Valkenberg is a founder, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of AirMarkets Corporation. Bill brings 40 years as a business lawyer, entrepreneur and manager, and his longstanding passion for innovation to the company’s executive team.

As a practicing attorney, Bill represented private and publicly-held companies in corporate finance, M&A and other business matters in fast-paced, rapidly changing business environments. In 2010, Bill became the President and Chief Operating Officer of NextGen AeroSciences, an early-stage company that he co-founded in 2009 to develop flight planning and trajectory management software. From 2009 – 2010, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of RealPage, Inc. (NASDAQ: RP), a leading provider of on-demand software solutions for the rental housing industry, where he was primarily involved in company acquisitions, pre-IPO preparations and corporate compliance. From 2006 – 2008, Bill served as Chief Legal Officer of DayJet Corporation, where he was involved in the launch of the first per-seat on-demand air carrier. He led negotiations with the FAA tosecure operating approvals for DayJet’s services. Before joining DayJet, Bill was a senior partner in the Seattle office of Holland & Knight LLP, a national law firm that acquired a successful boutique firm that he co-founded and managed to address the business and finance needs of start-up and emerging growth companies

During his career, Bill has been recognized by clients and peers as a top corporate, securities and M&A lawyer. He has co-founded a number of companies and served in a variety of roles, including executive officer, director, strategic advisor, early stage investor and outside counsel. He is accomplished in structuring and negotiating business transactions, has strong securities and governance expertise, a background in reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions and partnering transactions, and hands-on experience with regulatory compliance. He received a B.A degree in Economics from the University of Washington and a J.D. degree in Law from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law.
